Proposed Wisconsin Law to Strengthen Hunter Harassment Penalties

Wisconsin – The right to hunt in Wisconsin is a constitutionally protected right, according to a press release from WI state representative Adam Jarchow, but that hasn’t stopped a group of extremists (reportedly led by a convicted felon) from stalking and harassing hunters.

The problem, they say, is that current law against hunter harassment in WI “is difficult to use and enforce.”

For that reason, Rep. Jarchow has introduced a bill that reportedly “includes fines up to $10,000 and nine months in jail for animal-rights groups that photograph, film, or otherwise bother hunters in the field.”

This is not about regular protesting – it’s about stalking hunters and following them into the woods just to harass them and ruin their hunt.

Kudos, Rep. Jarchow. I hope it passes and becomes law.
