POTD: Springfield Armory Echelon – Modularity Redefined in a Handgun
Adam Scepaniak 08.11.23
Here at AllOutdoor we have given the new Springfield Armory Echelon a lot of coverage and love since its launch roughly one month ago now. We gave it a down ‘n dirty 500 Round Burn Down test when we initially received a sample to test, then we ran it through a weekend at The Tactical Games (pushing the overall round count to 1,000+), and we even closely examined the revolutionary Variable Interface System (VIS) which redefines the way we mount optics directly to slides. Overall, we fail to find much of anything to complain about. From top-to-bottom, front-to-back, and left-to-right this is a phenomenal pistol. It is a “chassis” design so you can rip the guts out (which are serialized) and drop them into different frames as you please so the sky is the limit. It really opens the door for the aftermarket community to embrace the Springfield Armory Echelon and make it a platform rather than just a gun.
Be sure to watch for future coverage of the Springfield Armory Echelon on AllOutdoor as we are not done playing with this new pistol. As always, let us know all of your thoughts in the Comments below! We always appreciate your feedback.
