[ICAST 2023] The Next Iteration of Dendoh the Daiwa Seapower 1200

Daiwa has raised the bar for the Dendoh line of reels, with this year’s winner of “Best Saltwater Reel of the New Product Showcase” the Seapower 1200. Capable of exceptional speed, power, and performance the new Seapower 1200 is the standard for electric reel performance. The Seapower 1200 is been thoroughly tested and is more than capable of winching up a variety of species from incredibly deep water, from tilefish and rosies up to the allusive swordfish. The reel has a powerful brushed variable-speed motor attached to an oversized planetary gearing system. This equates to an incredible amount of speed and pulling power you only find on electric reels in a whole other price bracket.

How much power? DAIWA Marketing Director Marc Mills says, “The SEAPOWER 1200 is 50% more powerful than our Tanacom power-assist reels.” Such faculty gives the angler an advantage over brutes like swordfish, snowy grouper, tilefish, and other hard-pulling deepwater dwellers.

The Seapower 1200 has a monetary winding power of 108 lbs. It can pull in up to 140 yards of line a minute and has monstrous 66 lbs of drag pressure available. The reel handle knob has an aluminum build that anglers will love, and the line guide is oversized so swivels and connections can easily be wound onto the spool. The screen on the Seapower is an easy-to-read LED screen that has multiple language settings. When fully loaded the reel will hold 1110 yards of 80 lb Daiwa J-Braid Line.
