[ICAST 2023] A New Monster Glidebait the Berkley PowerBait Nessie

Long-time makers of PowerBait, Berkley Fishing have brought out their newest soft plastic lure, the PowerBait Nessie. A new big profile soft plastic bait that looks like nothing before it. The PowerBait Nessie allows anglers to skip, slide, and cast this soft-bodied glide bait into all sorts of places other hard-bodied glide baits couldn’t before. They will be available in three different sizes starting from the smallest lure at 5 inches and going all the way up to a 9-inch lure.

The Nessie is a big profile bait that is very versatile on the retrieve, able to be fished slow, fast, or any speed and cadence in between. This is due to the stabilizing fins that keep the bait running consistently at all times, even giving the bait enough lift to be almost walked along the surface. The soft body along with the fins makes for a bait that is incredibly responsive to any input from the angler and has beautiful action. The joint of the bait is reinforced with a mesh and a hook retention clip is built in, this all to make a durable lure that won’t break apart after a few fish. The bait is paired with a sticky sharp Fusion19 treble hook on a swivel so fish can’t twist off the hook.

With a MSRP starting at $7.99 for the smallest size the Nessie opens the door for anglers who want to try fishing jointed glide baits without breaking the bank. The Nessie will be available in stores starting this September.
