Winchester Introduces USA Ready Defense Grade Ammunition

Winchester has just released a new line of self-defense oriented ammunition with the USA Ready Defense Grade ammunition. The ammunition will be made available in 3 different calibers initially including 9mm, .45 ACP, and .40 S&W. The aim of the ammunition is to provide more consistent penetration and expansion when being employed using the most popular concealed carry pistols.

The USA Ready ammunition features a unique hex-vent rigid insert that protects the hollow point from obstructions while also focusing forces in a specific direction to aid in expansion. When used in tandem with self-defense pistols the 9mm variant of the ammo has demonstrated that it can meet FBI Test protocols.
Designed with defense in mind, USA Ready Defense utilizes the highest grade of components that are required when it counts.

Every box of Winchester USA Ready ammunition includes a Lot Number that allows you to quickly and easily find ballistics data — including velocity, pressure, and accuracy ratings — related to your box’s lot. Start your search by using the Lot Number found on your box. You can look up specific lot numbers using the Winchester website.
With premium grade components and detailed lot records, I can see this ammunition performing very well in the self-defense market. I will be looking forward to doing some of my own testing with these when they start showing up on gun shop shelves – that is, if ammo ever starts showing up on shelves again.
