‘The Stan Project’ Filming Underway
Russ Chastain 07.22.19
Back in February, I told y’all about The Stan Project, a new video documentary about “Yukon Man” Stan Zuray that was being crowd-funded. Well, thanks to many of you, it surpassed the goal for funding and work has been underway for a while now. Most recently, they’ve been shooting video at Stan’s fish camp while the family catches and processes the fish they need to help sustain them into the coming winter.
They recently linked to a video from their Facebook page which shows their travel to the fish camp, beginning with boarding a small airplane for a flight to Tanana, the remote village where Stan lives when he’s feeling sociable. Next we find them speeding down the Yukon River in Stan’s boat — a rare opportunity to see Stan sitting down instead of working on stuff.
The video is only 3:22 long, but it has some lovely scenery and offers a small glimpse of what’s to come as the Stan Project works its way forward. I’m certainly looking forward to seeing more!
Until then, we will just have to settle for this. Enjoy.
