Swalwell’s Anti-Gun Poll Backfires; He Drops From Presidential Race

Remember Eric Swalwell? No, I wouldn’t either except that I recently wrote a piece about his blockheaded proposal to limit ammo possession to 200 rounds, which was only notable because he’s a USA Representative and was running for President at the time. Well, now he’s out of the race… and guns are probably the reason for his dropout.

Gunpowder Magazine reported that he dropped out of the 2020 Presidential race “days after a Twitter poll he posted… backfired dramatically.”

On July 1, he created a poll in Twitter, which was of course worded in an anti-gun fashion. To vote in favor of guns, you had to claim you love guns more than you love children.

Assault weapons have become the firearm of choice in too many mass shootings. We don’t have to live this way — those guns only belong on battlefields. Do you support a ban AND buy-back of every weapon of war in America?

Even at that, his cause lost dramatically, as you can see above: 79% of respondents said they DO NOT support a “ban AND buy-back of every weapon of war in America.”

The most-retweeted reply to his post was, “How about, ‘No, I have firearms BECAUSE I love my family and want to keep them safe.'”

Thanks, America. Now vote this goober out and force him to get a real job.
