Watch: Glass Arrowhead From a Jim Beam Bottle
Russ Chastain 03.02.18
I’ve seen this message on old liquor bottles before: “Federal law forbids sale or re-use of this bottle.” Well, this guy took it as a challenge and decided to re-use an old “James Beam” bottle to make glass arrowheads. Sweet!
Interestingly, he breaks it with a hunk of deer antler, once the bottom is busted out. Hmmm.
It’s really cool to watch this thing take shape and to know that, although I certainly hope I never have to rely on glass arrowheads to take game for survival, it can be done.
In the end, he glues it to an arrow with some pine resin and wraps it with elk sinew to strengthen the bond.
Enjoy!
