3 Cool Water Products from HydraPak at the SHOT Show
Russ Chastain 01.30.18
HydraPak creates products for transporting and dispensing water. Many of their products are collapsible, and every one I’ve tried has been of high quality. The company says it “creates innovative solutions that stand up to the harshest environments… offering a better way to hydrate, and continually seeking to refine its offerings…” Here are a few notable things I saw from HydraPak at the 2018 SHOT Show.
Stow Water Bottle
Available in one-liter and 500-ml sizes, the Stow water bottle is lightweight and eminently packable. I’m looking forward to trying one as a replacement for the hard water bottle I usually carry with me during deer season, and I’m thinking this might fit my turkey hunting vest a little better, too. (Hard water bottles flop around in my vest, and unless they are completely full or empty, they slosh a lot.)
Specs:
- 28mm screw cap with spill-proof nozzle
- Capacity: 500 ml or 1 L
- Weight: 1.5 or 1.9 ounces
- Material: TPU body, HDPE screw cap
- Colors: Malibu blue, Mammoth gray, Mojave orange, Sequoia green
- MSRP: $14 and $17
Limited Edition TRCP Stow Bottle
HydraPak teamed up with Theodore Roosevelt Conservation Partnership (TRCP) to help support accessible public lands. TRCP is “a national advocacy organization with a mission to guarantee all Americans quality places to hunt and fish,” and there’s nothing wrong with that! What’s more useless than public land which nobody can use?
For the 2018 SHOT Show, HydraPak produced a limited-edition STOW water bottle to give away to attendees who donated $5 or more to TRCP, “with 100% of the proceeds going directly to TRCP’s public land conservation and sportsmen’s access efforts.”
This was a great way for HydraPak to help support public land use bu the general public. Nice!
Expedition 8-Liter Water Jug
This big collapsible jug looks great, and I might have to get one for hunt camp, where I have running water but carry water in jugs for drinking and cooking. The coolest thing about the Expedition may be the included tap, which allows you to easily control the water flow, and when it’s time to fill, the big ol’ cap should make that easy.
The flexible handle also looks tough enough for the job, and interior baffles strengthen the bottle and help it stand up when full.
Car camping? The black color makes this a good candidate for solar water heating on your flivver’s roof.
Specs:
- 63mm screw cap with insertable tap valve
- Filter compatible
- Capacity: 8 L
- Weight: 9 ounces
- Material: Nylon TPU-film laminate, HDPE cap
- Color: Black
- MSRP: $60
