When it comes to pocket knives, few brand names stand out like W.R. Case & Sons. According to the company website, Case started with four brothers selling knifes out of a wagon in 1889.
In 1900, the brothers incorporated and formed W.R. Case & Sons.

Case made a name for itself by producing quality knives that can be handed down for generations. When someone pulls out a case knife, there is no doubt about the quality.
At the hunting lease I used to be a member of, Case pocket knives were the preferring skinning knife. I have no idea how many deer were skinned with a Case knife on that hunting lease, and few of the knives had to be resharpened during the skinning process.
Cheaper knives frequently had to be resharpened while skinning a deer.

Warranty does not cover abuse, such as using the knife as a hammer.
Collectable
Case has its own collectors club. From time to time Case will produce a limited run of special collectors edition knives.

Starting in 1905, Case knives feature a unique date stamp on the blade. Using the stamp, collectors can determine the approximate age of the knife.

This may sound like a sale pitch for Case knives, but it’s not; it’s just my honest opinion of Case.
