Watch: Savage Compact AR-10 Review

Savage decided to dip its toe into the AR market and released a couple of different models. In this video, the guys over at The Firearm Blog got their hands on a Savage MSR 10 chambered in 308 Winchester and took it out to the range.
The MSR 10 is available in:

Now for the video.
The rifle was shot at a range of 100 yards using two different types of ammunition.
- Fusion MSR 150 grain.
- Federal premium 168 grain Sierra Matchking boat tail hollow point.
Fusion MSR
Best group – 1.9 inches.
Worst group – 2.5 inches.
Federal Sierra Boat Tail Hollow Point
Best group – 1.1 inches
Four rounds were in a group of .63 inches.
Final Thoughts
I wish Remington Core-Lokt had been fired from the rifle. Federal Fusion is used by hunters, but not like Remington Core-Lokt is. For the most part, Core-Ookt is the go to round for people hunting Whitetail deer.
On a personal note, I am trying to figure out what group Savage is trying to market the MSR10 to? Retail price is around $1,400 and it looks like the rifle needs match grade ammunition to achieve acceptable results.
I like that the stock can be changed out by only undoing 4 screws, Blackhawk furniture and the handguard is M-LOK. All of those are very nice additions to an over the counter rifle.
