Thrunite Archer 1A V3 Flashlight Review

The Thrunite Archer is one of my favorite compact flashlights. There are two different versions of the Archer: 1A uses a single AA battery, 2A uses two AA batteries. In this review we will be looking at the 1A model.
Awhile back someone from Thrunite sent me an email through my Youtube account and asked if I would like to review some of their flashlights. The first flashlight was the Thrunite TN12, then they sent me the Archer.
As soon as I opened the Thrunite Archer box, it looked like it was ready to go to work.
Thrunite Archer Specifications
- Output and estimated run-time:
- Firefly: 0.1 lumen (17 days)
- Low: 17 lumen (22 hours)
- Medium: 75 lumen (5 hours)
- High: 200 lumen (115 minutes)
- Strobe: 200 lumen (3.5 hours)
Estimated run time of 22 hours on low with a single AA battery? That is very impressive, at least to me anyway.
Length: 4 1/8 inches
Diameter: 3/4 inch
Weight with battery: 2.45 ounces
Carry pouch and lanyard included. The lanyard is rather small. I suggest replacing it with some good quality cord, such as trotline string.
Test
The Thrunite Archer 1A was subjected to the typical line of test:
Frozen in a block of ice for around 24 hours.
Used to drive three 12 penny nails through a 2 x 4 board. The light did not have enough mass to drive the nails, so it was taped to a framing hammer.
Thrown out of a moving truck with a string attached to it.
Ran over with a tractor several times.
Final Thoughts
As of March 8, 2017, the Archer has a price of $29.99 on Amazon. For that price, this little workhorse of a light is tough to beat.
When I need a compact flashlight, this is the one I reach for. It uses a single AA battery, can take a beating, and is reliable. What more could you want in a flashlight?
