POTD: American Lever-Action Classic – The Marlin 336

Its side ejection and solid top receiver made scope mounting a breeze, while the introduction of Micro-Groove rifling in 1956 enhanced its accuracy. Over time, the 336 has adapted to hunters’ needs. From compact brush guns to longer-barreled versions, there’s been a 336 for most situations. Its reliable action has also made it a favorite for custom work. Despite ownership changes and brief production pauses, the 336 has endured. As of 2023, it’s back in production under Ruger’s watch.
