[ICAST 2024] Daiwa’s NEW Sword Slayer – Seaborg G1800M-RJ

Daiwa has brought out its most formidable electric power-assist reel to ICAST 2024. The new Seaborg 1800M-RJ is a purpose-built swordfish reel built to drop pounds of lead into the abyss drop after drop and bring up monsters. The new Seaborg 1800M-RJ comes equipped with a new MagMax-G motor that is almost two times the size of the previous designs. This gives the reel a 170% increase in winding power. The drag system has been overhauled as well, with 9 large carbon drag washers. This gives the reel 110 lbs of max drag to tame those deep sea monsters.

A big new game changer for this new model of Seaborg is the addition of a new remote control JOG. This is a new Bluetooth-connected remote control that lets you supervise the reel even when manning the helm or rigging. These reels are capable of holding well over 1000 meters of 80lb braid and have over 80 lbs of hoisting power, so you’ll never feel under gunned deep dropping.
