AllOutdoor Review – Silencer Central Buck 30 by Banish .30 Cal Silencer

In the firearms industry there are always hot topic debates for a lot of things like “what is the best concealed carry pistol,” or “what is the best hunting cartridge?” When people want to BS around the water cooler about the best silencer distributor/company in the industry, there is no debate though: it’s Silencer Central. They champion our rights on a national, legislative level for us, have put more silencers in gun owners’ hands than anyone else, and their in-house lineup of silencers are top notch. So much so that other industry titans want to collaborate and join forces with them. What we are alluding to is a partnership that we announced last October between BUCK COMMANDER™ and Silencer Central with the creation of the BUCK 30 by Banish .30 cal silencer. A suppressor that is meant to be hunt-driven and proven in the field, we have been able to get our hands on one to see what they are all about. Today, we are going to review the Silencer Central BUCK 30 by Banish .30 cal silencer to see what it is all about. Let’s dive in!

Further details about the BUCK 30 by Banish can be read below as presented by Silencer Central:

The newest addition to the BANISH line of suppressors is the BUCK 30, a high-performance hunting suppressor in partnership with Buck Commander.

Buck Commander is all about the thrill of the hunt and the relationships that come with it. Silencer Central is all about making your silencer purchase process as simple and hassle-free as possible so that you can spend more time thinking about your next hunt.

The BUCK 30 is a multi-caliber suppressor that works with all rifle calibers up to .300 Winchester Magnum. That makes it the perfect choice for all of your hunting adventures no matter how big or small.

Made of stainless steel and laser welded for precision and durability, the BUCK 30 features the Buck Commander logo proudly displayed on its tubeless construction. At just 6.9” in length and 1.54” in diameter, it weighs only 13.8 oz.

Equipped with an accuracy baffle, the BUCK 30 minimizes point of impact shift so you may only need to make slight sight adjustments when you switch between suppressed and unsuppressed shooting. Additionally, the BUCK 30 features an industry-standard hub mount giving users more options to connect their BUCK 30 to their host firearm.

Despite the compact size, it packs an impressive amount of sound suppression. Tests show that a .308 from an 18” barrel registers 131 decibels at the ear. Similarly, 6.5 Creedmoor from a 20” barrel registers 132 decibels at the ear. Both are well under the hearing-safe limit of 140 decibels.

If you want to reduce your recoil, save your hearing, improve your accuracy, and protect your hunt, then you need the BUCK 30 on your rifle the next time you adventure beyond the pavement.

Field Use – Silencer Central Buck 30 by Banish .30 Cal Silencer

So, how did the BUCK 30 by Banish perform for us out on the range?… I shot this silencer on a handful of rifles, but the two that saw the most time with the BUCK 30 by Banish were my Springfield Armory Model 2020 Waypoint 6.5 Creedmoor and Marlin 336 Dark .30-30 Win. My Marlin Dark is a terrific brush gun while my Springfield Armory Waypoint is my surgical long-range tool, and both had very pleasant tone and noise reduction when coupled with the BUCK 30 by Banish silencer.

I can anecdotally state that both were easily hearing safe and had very little report on the range. Additionally, it tamed the recoil impulse of both rifles considerably. Neither the .30-30 Win or 6.5 Creedmoor cartridges are rounds that will beat up your shoulder, but what that lessened recoil allows for is you, the shooter, to be able to see your impacts on target through your optic. This can be invaluable information in hunting scenarios.

With the sound and recoil reduction on point, let’s assess the other aspects of the BUCK 30 by Banish. This being a .30 cal silencer your direct thread option is a common 5/8″ x 24 TPI (thread per inch). Most firearms that are larger than .223 Rem/5.56 NATO (like my 6.5 Creedmoor) and smaller than 0.338″ diameter cartridges (like my bread ‘n butter .30-30 Win) are a 5/8″ x 24 TPI. This makes it easy to direct thread the BUCK 30 by Banish to innumerable factory-threaded rifles.

I found the length to be a moderate size – not too long and not too short – and when you stack it up against other Silencer Central suppressors that is exactly where it lands as well. The BUCK 30 by Banish is 6.9″ in overall length (OAL) while the Banish 30 is 7″ OAL (compact configuration) and the Banish Backcountry is 5.5″ OAL. So, the general size of this silencer allows it to adequately suppress sound and mitigate recoil without being overly large and cumbersome.

Final Thoughts – Silencer Central Buck 30 by Banish .30 Cal Silencer

So, what are my final thoughts on the Silencer Central BUCK 30 by Banish .30 cal silencer?… Overall, I was unsure how well a $700 centerfire rifle silencer would perform when so many within the industry are $1,000+ nowadays, but the BUCK 30 by Banish absolutely performs and punches above its price tag. It is affordable yet has great performance and it never changed my point-of-impact (POI) – no POI shift to speak of whatsoever.

In closing, I want to say thank you to Silencer Central for allowing AllOutdoor and myself the opportunity to try out one of the Silencer Central BUCK 30 by Banish .30 cal silencers. Also, many thanks to Remington for providing high quality ammunition for this review. That is always greatly appreciated. The last question that remains is what do you think? Is the Silencer Central BUCK 30 by Banish .30 cal silencer something you would be willing to invest your money in to go hunting? Would you use it for home defense? Help a new shooter learn to shoot with it? As always, let us know all of your thoughts in the Comments below! We always appreciate your feedback.
