Remington Awarded US Navy Contract, AO23: 12 Gauge Duty Slugs

Remington Ammunition has once again secured themselves a significant military contract for their ammo crafting efforts. This time they have been awarded the most recent US Navy Contract for 12 Gauge Slug, Duty Shotgun Loads to the loading specifications of “AO23.” This is a 12-gauge, 2-3/4-inch, 1-ounce Rifled Lead Slug contract for a 5-year period with an undefined quantity or amount (likely only undefined to the general public).

Lonoke, Arkansas – January, 2024 – The U.S. Navy has selected Remington Ammunition as a contract awardee for 12-gauge slug duty shotgun loads.

The cartridge selected during the five-year contract term is the AO23 12-gauge, 2-3/4-inch, 1-ounce Rifled Lead Slug. The ordering period is for a total of five years. The ammunition will be produced by Remington at the Lonoke, Arkansas facility.
“We continue to find ways to improve rifled slug accuracy and performance for law enforcement and military,” continued Kline. “This large government contract awarded to Remington speaks volumes to the trust the United States military has in our American workforce assembling the best products for our servicemen and servicewomen.”
It is unsurprising to see that Remington Ammunition has been able to secure another military contract like this because nearly everything that they produce is not only of high quality and standards to civilians, but the military as well.
