PENN Fishing has brought out their new upgraded PENN Squall II Lever Drag Reels and Rod & Reel Combos. These new reels offer anglers a lighter and more powerful reel system. Bringing in groundbreaking features that were first introduced in the Fathom II LD reel last year, the Squall II lever drag reels let offshore and nearshore anglers expand their rod and reel lineup at affordable prices. The PENN Squall II Lever Drag is made around the ideas of power and efficiency, coming with a one-piece graphite frame and side plate for reduced weight and increased strength. This additionally eliminates the screws on the palm side of the reel for a better ergonomic feel. The reel’s gearing is a robust stainless steel main and pinion gear, for a smooth and durable gear train.

The Squall II drag reels also include the revolutionary PENN Dura-Drag system for a smooth but powerful drag system that can make quick work of dolphin and kingfish, but still have the raw strength to bring in a monster wahoo that bombed your spread. The Squall II LD also comes with a pull-to-turn preset knob that remains immovable once dialed in. That way anglers can fight fish without having to worry about overshooting their drag on accident during the heat of the fight. The Squall II LD spans an extensive size range from a 25N up to a 60 reel. There is also a 40N high-speed model as well, made for light drag applications with 20 lb mono. Making it a perfect reel for fast-swimming sailfish and light-line kingfish. This series also includes five combos, featuring graphite composite blanks and one-piece stainless-steel Dura-Guides, which eliminate guide inserts and further increase durability.
