POTD: Little Jab, Little Bang – The Stinger Survivor Pen/Knife Gun

Welcome to today’s Photo of the Day! Here we have a Stinger Pen Gun but in rare pocket knife form. The “Survivor” pocket knife pistol made by the short-lived Stinger Manufacturing Company is quite a rare find today. Only around 400 of these combo knife/gun designs were produced before the company was shut down. Stinger drew the ire of authorities for products like the Survivor and was ultimately indicted for aggressive fax marketing to law enforcement customers. After the assets were auctioned, the owners relocated to Canada. But in its brief tenure, Stinger managed to manufacture this futuristic knife concealing a single shot .22 pen gun within the handle – a unique take on a concealable last-resort backup weapon. Though unable to gain mainstream success, the rare Survivor knife gun still stands out for its radical design and concealment concept.
