Bladebaits have been around for decades now in the freshwater fishing world. Great for fishing in the colder months, the hyperactive tight wobble action brings in the strikes from cold fish. Cast against banks, jigged deep, or just trolled they have worked well in the sweetwater. No one has really taken these baits into the brine, maybe a few innovative anglers here and there switching out the hooks and snaps for something stronger. Now Daiwa is bringing in a purpose-made saltwater bladebait to the market with the new Bull Steel Bladebaits.

Just like their freshwater brethren the Bull Steel can be cast and retrieved, dropped and jigged, or just trolled. These new bladebaits have a great sound profile underwater that fish can hear from far out. You can even adjust this sound profile by choosing one of the two cutouts on top, each having a unique sound profile. That way you can adjust on the fly to see what the fish really vibe with. Beyond just the sound, the wobble and finish make for electric-like flashes when it’s worked in the water. The profile of the lure is also baitfish inspired to an instantly recognizable silhouette that predatory fish will hone in on.
When the Bull Steel fish is jigged in a vertical fashion, it wobbles and creates tons of noise on the rise, then slowly flutters back down imitating a wounded baitfish sinking out of a bait ball. From initial testing, it has already proven itself to perform exceptionally on snappers, groupers, blackfin tuna, amberjack, jack crevalle, yellowtail, and essentially all other pelagic species. The Bull Steel comes with a pair of sticky sharp #4 saltwater trebles, along with a saltwater-grade snap that is rated for 65 pounds. The lures are available in 1oz and 1.5ox sizes and four colors; BLUE PINK, ZEBRA GLOW, SILVER, and PINK GOLD.
