The next generation of EXCELER Spinning reels is here from Daiwa, they are proud to unveil this new iteration loaded with significant improvements. These reels offer striking good looks, smooth performance, a steady drag system, and so much more, all for around $100 USD. The new 23 EXCELER LT will be available from a 1000-size spinning reel up to a 6000-size spinning reel.

“We kind of went back to the drawing board with the EXCELER,” says DAIWA Senior Marketing Manager, Marc Mills. “First, we upgraded to a carbon fiber body—ZAION V—so the new version is lighter than current EXCELER models for comparable sizes.”
Mills continues: “We also went to an AIRDRIVE ROTOR, so rather than an air rotor, AIRDRIVE ROTORS are much lighter. We also changed the bail to a thinner, lighter (yet solid) AIRDRIVE BAIL. We selected a solid bail wire for its rigidity and resistance to bending during normal use; the thinner, smaller wire is also lighter, which reduces the weight of the rotation, thus reducing the weight of the reel.”
With many years of use all over the globe with countless anglers, the original EXCELER LT had already proved itself many times over. A smartly-priced reel that can perform at the level of many other more expensive models of spinning reels. While the previous generation of the reel featured a Carbon Light Material, this new 2023 generation sports a ZAION V body for an even lighter reel, that sports greater rigidity in the frame. This is matched with a comfortable machined aluminum handle for a strong and comfortable connection to the main gear of the spinning reel. The new EXCELER comes with 5 ball bearings along with 1 roller bearing for an extremely smooth feel that maximizes performance. MSRP for the reel will start at $99.99 and go up to $119.99 for larger sizes, they will be available for purchase this fall.
