POTD: Watch This! -The Teeny Tiny 2mm Kolibri Pistol

Welcome to today’s Photo of the Day! Here we have a legendary yet tiny pistol. This is the Kolibri pistol. This little guy (pictured with a penny) has the notoriety of being known as the worlds smallest pistol. Better yet and more significantly impressive is the fact that its 2mm cartridge is a centerfire cartridge. It is not rimfire. This choice was likely due to the fact that a rimmed cartridge in say 22lr does not feed well in automatics without significant trials and engineering. The Kolibri was created by an Austrian watchmaker named Franz Pfannl. That lucky guy had a financial backer Georg Grabner encouraging his production of the smallest gun in the world. In recent years this little guy has seen some attention with the video game Battlefield 1.
