Paul B. 05.22.23
The engineers and designers at Polaris don’t seem to be slowing down. Hot off the heels of multiple new releases and redesigns, Polaris has announced a completely new Side by Side in their lineup. This one geared for the outdoor adventurers and overlanding crowd, the new Polaris Xpedition sports some impressive features and options that are blurring the lines between a road going vehicle and what the industry used to know as a traditional OHV (Off-Highway Vehicle).
2024 Polaris Xpedition
It has been a number of years since Polaris has added a new name to their OHV lineup, new models and redesigns, but those all fell into existing families of Side by Sides. The last new member would’ve been the Polaris General, that does a fantastic job of combining the work characteristics of the Ranger family with the fun sport riding of the RZR lineup. This new Xpedition appears to be a further evolution of the original General idea, but more focused on the adventure aspect. Touting impressive suspension, plenty of engine power, enclosed cab options, and even HVAC.
Polaris has broked the Xpedition into two main models, the Xpedition XP and the Xpedition ADV. The Xpedition XP has an open dumping cargo bed, while the ADV has a fixed enclosed bed. This being the standout difference in the two models. Each model comes equipped with the new Gen 2 ProStar 1000 engine making 114 hp, FOX Podium QS3 Shocks, 20″ of suspension travel, 660 W charging systems (standard), and audio systems.

As you progress through the trim packages, features like Polaris Ride Command, front and rear cameras, higher spec’d audio systems, and more powerful charging systems will be added. The top trim level adds heat and air conditioning with temperature and zone control. The HVAC model also forgoes the stator charging system for a 140 amp Alternator charging system, giving plenty of power for added accessories.

Light bars, windshields, bumpers, roof racks and even rooftop tents. As with full size vehicles in the overlanding category, customization for your own personal taste will be a large factor.
