Black Collar Arms Desperado System – Guitar Straps are Now Rifle Slings
Adam Scepaniak 04.25.23
Something unique to come out of SHOT Show 2023 that might have been overlooked by some is a truly innovative solution to creating new rifle slings from old materials. If you have some guitar straps laying around that are rad, and you always thought “Man, that’d make a wicked rifle sling.” Well, now you can accomplish exactly that with the Black Collar Arms Desperado system. You can take traditional guitar slings – and with Black Collar Arms’ appropriate hardware – convert that righteous strap into a rifle sling.

Leander, TX –The Black Collar Arms Desperado system allows the use of a guitar strap as a rifle sling, complete with locking QD attachment. Not only are guitar straps incredibly cool looking and available in thousands of styles and dozens of materials, but they make for some of the most comfortable, best rifle slings going! No surprise there, as guitar straps and strap locks are designed to hold heavy, expensive guitars comfortably and securely for hours on end. Some even offer fast, single-handed length adjustment like some of the best tactical rifle slings! Desperado is compatible with standard guitar strap locks (e.g. Schaller, Fender, the ones available on the Desperado product page, etc.) and nearly any guitar strap you so choose. Simply pull up on the guitar strap lock’s spring-loaded pin to attach or detach the lock from the Desperado lug (Schaller locks click right onto Desperado and lock in place without even having to touch the pin). Letting go of the pin locks the strap in place automatically.
If you have ever been to SHOT Show before, you already know that there are acres upon acres of cool products, but very few actually innovative ones. We’re not being “Debbie Downers,” but a lot of the newest products displayed are incremental improvements on existing ideas. The Black Collar Arms Desperado system is groovy because it is something entirely new utilizing components (guitar straps) we might already have laying around at home. As always, let us know all of your thoughts in the Comments below! We always appreciate your feedback.
