The Savage Arms 110 PCS was recently named “Handgun of the Year” by the National Rifle Association’s (NRA) “American Hunter” publication and it looks like good news travels in bunches because Savage Arms has another award headed their way. The Savage Renegauge Security has earned an award for itself from the NRA’s “Shooting Illustrated” publication as the 2023 “Shotgun of the Year” with its own Golden Bullseye Award.

Each year, the NRA Publications Golden Bullseye Awards acknowledge the finest products available in the outdoor industry. The winners are selected by a seven-member committee consisting of editors, graphic designers and veteran NRA Publications staff, representing more than a century of collective experience in the shooting and hunting industry. So, for Savage Arms to earn the “Handgun of the Year” and “Shotgun of the Year” award is no small feat. Both Savage Arms and the NRA staff shared appreciation in this press release statement below:
WESTFIELD, Massachusetts – December 28th, 2022 –“We’re humbled and proud that the Renegauge Security was recognized as the top performing shotgun by the extremely talented staff at Shooting Illustrated,” said Beth Shimanski, Director of Marketing at Savage Arms. “The Security Model of the Reneguage was introduced to be the most dependable, accurate, and efficient tactical-style home defense shotgun on the market and winning this award has proven the team at Savage has accomplished just that with this platform.”
Bryce Towsley, award-winning writer, photographer and Shooting Illustrated field editor, describes the Savage Renegauge Security in his recent review as “well designed, easy to operate and soft on recoil. It’s reliable, extremely fast and a pleasure to shoot.” He goes on to explain, “I have been shooting the shotgun for several months, and it has impressed me. Believe me, after 40 years of testing guns for a living, I am pretty jaded and don’t write those words easily.”
The Savage Renegauge Security has changed the game of semi-automatic shotguns, handling any load in any environment. Everything from length-of-pull to comb height and drop at the heel can be adjusted to fit almost any shooter. This American-made firearm fully represents Savage’s commitment to building the best of the best.
The Savage Renegauge Security might not have a lot of hunting practicality for us outdoorsmen and outdoorswomen, but it definitely could be deployed in a pinch for varmint hunting (coyote/fox) or even turkey hunting. Also, if you ever needed a home defense shotgun for your cabin, RV, or truck, this would be a great companion when you are in and out of the woods. As always, let us know all of your thoughts in the Comments below! We always appreciate your feedback.
