Welcome to today’s Photo of the Day! Here we have the Taurus Judge before the Taurus Judge and the Smith and Wesson Governor. This is the MIL Inc. Thunder Five Double Action Revolver. The Thunder Five is a double action 410/45 revolver much like the now more accepted Taurus Judge and its Governor adversary. The Thunder Five was released in 1992 and had a lot of unique additions in its time. At one point in its production, sub-caliber cylinder sleeves were available to make your Thunder Five shoot various 38 (similar diameter) sized cartridges. Cartridges such as 9mm, 38 Super, 38 Special, and 357 Magnum. The Thunder Five even went as far as a 45-70 production revolver to make it legal for sale in California. Another cool tidbit about this hefty double-action revolver is it featured a manual safety. The MIL Inc. Thunder Five Double Action Revolver ceased production in 1998.
