For those who carry 1911s, the size and weight can become tiresome. Thankfully, we have variants with smaller frames and shorter barrels, but what if you want more capacity, too? One way to increase capacity is to change calibers. There has been a trend toward 9mm 1911 pistols in recent years. The smaller round increases capacity and the weight of an all-steel gun can make shooting 9mm feel like a BB gun. Now in a smaller commander size, welcome the newest in Springfield Armory’s Emissary line. This is the new 9mm Emissary 4.25″.

Springfield Armory Releases NEW 9mm Emissary 4.25″
The Emissary 4.25″ is formed by linking a forged stainless steel frame with an aggressive-lined stainless slide. The slide features the same quick sights found on the Hellcat pistols and serrations for reducing glare. The grip has been engineered to grab your hand and keep the gun in place. The beavertail is extended and the manual safety is single-sided. The magazines hold nine rounds each and have extended base plates. The square, hard lines also continue into the square trigger guard and flat trigger.
