All new from Buck Knives, the new Hookset line of fishing fillet knives has arrived. This new series consists of seven new fishing knives for freshwater and saltwater uses. Prices for the blades range from $29.99 – $44.99 depending on the model. For freshwater, they have 3 knives available. Two are one-piece freshwater fillet knives that come with injection-molded sheaths that have integrated belt loops. These two are the 6″ and the 9″ fillet knives. Both of these blades are traditional flexible fillet knives. The third freshwater knife is the 6″ folding fillet knife. A compact knife that would be a great addition to the tackle box. This knife comes with a lanyard loop instead of a sheath.
All three blades are made of 5Cr15MOV steel with a satin finish. The knives have excellent corrosion resistance due to high chromium content and sharpen ability due to the hardness of the stainless steel.
The handles for all three are made of glass-reinforced polypropylene with TPE rubber accents to provide an all-weather grip. The freshwater line of knives comes in an orange and black color scheme for the handles.
New from Buck Knives Hookset Fillet Knives
For salt water use, Buck has designed four knives. Two are the traditional fillet knives with flexible knife blades, available in 6″ and 9″ blade lengths. One is a larger 10″ breaker fillet knife, better for breaking down larger fish. The last blade is their 6″ Salt Water Cleaver Knife, good for breaking down frames and pushing through bones.
Same as the freshwater Hookset knives, the handles are made of glass-reinforced polypropylene with TPE rubber to provide an all-weather grip. The saltwater line comes in a blue and grey color scheme for the handles. These also come with injection-molded sheaths that have integrated belt loops.
All four of the knives come with blades made of 5Cr15MOV steel with a titanium finish. Same as before knives have excellent corrosion resistance due to high chromium content and sharpen ability due to the hardness of the stainless steel. The addition of the titanium finish gives a higher degree of corrosion resistance to harsh salt conditions.
