POTD: The Old PMR30 – Grendel Inc P30 Pistol 22 Magnum

Welcome to today’s Photo of the Day! Here we have a cool chunk of pre-Keltec history. This is the Grendel P30, a 30 round .22 Magnum pistol. This pistol was designed by none other than Swedish inventor George Kellgren of later Keltec fame. Kellgren went through Grendel in order to manufacture and sell his pistol although they ended up being short-lived. The Grendel P30 was only made from 1990 to 1994 with a few different barrel lengths and even a carbine variant. The internals is set up similar to guns like the Astra pistols of the 1920s – 1940s with a fixed barrel, recoil spring around the barrel, and a threaded and knurled muzzle cap. It is really neat to see how the lines and controls compared to the modern manufactured Keltec PMR 30.
