The new J.P. Sauer and Sohn SL5 Turkey Shotgun is the latest offering from the legendary German firearms manufacturer that is set to help you bag a big bird this coming turkey season. Priced at a high-end, but competitive price of near $1200, the new shotgun incorporates lots of modern features that sportsmen are now looking for as well as the same reliable operation as the rest of the SL5 lineup that was released back in 2017. This is one to put on your wish list if you’re serious about your turkey hunting game.

“We are excited to partner with Mossy Oak to introduce these new high-performance, camo pattern turkey guns in our SL5 series,” said Jason Evans, CEO, Blaser Group. “There is strong demand, and we designed these new shotguns to deliver desired features and consistent reliability at a very competitive price point.”
The SL5 receiver features a black anodized exterior, an oversized extended bolt handle, an oversized bolt release, and a removable Picatinny rail that is pre-mounted from the factory. Each SL5 weighs 7 pounds and comes with a factory standard 3+1 capacity which should be good to go in most places where turkey hunting is allowed. The SL5 Turkey also comes with 3 chokes including a flush Cylinder, extended CRIO Plus Modified Choke, and a Carlson Extended turkey choke.
While the Sauer SL5 was released in early 2017, there has been popular demand from some of the more outspoken hardcore turkey hunters for a shotgun platform with more features for the modern sportsman. The SL5 Turkey Shotgun now incorporates an 18.5″ deep-drilled chrome-lined barrel topped stepped rip for the most precise alignment. Other features include a durable composite pistol-grip stock with an included Cervellati recoil pad as well as a red single-bead LPA front fiber-optic sight.
The entire package from J.P. Sauer and Sohn and the Blaser group is set at an MSRP of $1,199.99. These new SL5 Turkey Shotguns are available now and will come in either Obsession, Bottomland, or New Bottom Land camouflage patterns all from Mossy Oak.
