Maven Launches Two New B Series Binoculars, The B1.2 & B.6
Doug E 08.10.21
Maven, also known as the Maven Outdoor Equipment Company, introduced two (technically four) new binoculars within their B Series of optics. The B1.2 binocular is an upgraded version of Maven’s B.1 that features a smaller overall package, lighter weight, and higher quality materials. The B1.2 binocular has two magnification options, 8x42mm and 10x42mm. Maven’s other newly launched model is the B.6 which features 50mm objective lenses in either 10 or 12 power magnifications. Maven wanted to be able to offer that 50mm objective within their B Series as another option for customers that wanted something in between the 42mm and 56mm.

Maven states that their B Series of optics is their flagship lineup, so it makes sense that they’d want to keep those offerings upgraded as they’ve done with the B1.2 by using wider Schmidt-Pechan prisms, updated lens coatings and bringing the overall package and weight down for the end user. The B1.2 binocular is being listed at the same price as the original B.1 it replaced, which is $900 for the 8x42mm, and $950 for the 10×42 version. The B1.2 measures 5.7x 5.2x 2.2 inches.
Maven uses a direct-to-consumer business model that cuts out the cost of using distributors, which Maven explains is the reason they are able to use upgraded materials and parts. Both the B1.2 and B.6 binoculars also include the use of extra-low dispersion (ED) glass for better color and clarity.
The B.6 is the first of the B Series to be offered with 50mm objective lenses, and is available in 10x50mm and 12x50mm magnifications. The 10x is listed at $1,000 and the 12x is listed for $1,050. Maven uses wide-angle Schmidt-Pechan prisms and upgraded coatings in their B.6 binocular.
With the introduction of the B1.2 and the B.6, Maven has rounded out its B Series lineup to now offer a full range of premium binoculars with compact, mid-size and full-size models available for any pursuit and adventure. Additionally, each model is covered by the brand’s unconditional lifetime warranty and can be fully customized with Maven’s Custom Optics Builder.
