New 6.5 PRC Caliber Offering for the Blaser R8 Rifle

Hunters around the world should be very familiar with Blaser and their extremely versatile R8 Straight-Pull, bolt-action rifle. Blaser Group has just announced that the R8 will be receiving yet another chambering that is becoming very popular with hunters these days – 6.5 PRC (Precision Rifle Cartridge). The 6.5 PRC round has all the benefits of the similar 6.5 Creedmoor, but with an even flatter trajectory and even better terminal performance for bagging game at long range.
New 6.5 PRC Caliber Offering for the Blaser R8 Rifle
The new 6.5 PRC version of the R8 straight-pull rifle will be available with a Synthetic Stock, Wooden Stock, the highly stylized Leather Edition, or the R8 Ultimate edition which features an ergonomically optimized synthetic stock with adjustable comb, recoil pad, and an integrated recoil system for those heavier hitting calibers. It is unknown if the new 6.5 PRC option will be available for the R8 Ultimate Silence with an integrated suppressor.
The R8 series has always offered hunters loads of premium features including a sub 2-Lb trigger pull (listed as 900 grams), a manual cocking system for added safety during hunting, quick takedown and re-assembly, and fast barrel changes from calibers ranging from 204 Ruger up to the mighty 500 Jeffrey. The fast barrel change system allows traveling hunters to carry a single rifle with them while maintaining the versatility of multiple calibers to match the environment and game they will be hunting next.
