Remington Ammunition: Big Green Ammo is Back on the Shelf

I’m sure I don’t have to be the one to tell you that it’s been a little tough finding ammunition for your favorite pistol or hunting rifle. While pistol ammunition seems to have taken the biggest hit along with popular calibers like 223 and 5.56, our favorite hunting calibers aren’t immune from the shortage either. There does seem to be a little bit of relief along the way as Remington President Jason Vanderbrink announced via the companies YouTube channel that customers are reporting that ammunition is starting to be seen in stock on shelves again saying: “Big Green Ammo is Back on the Shelf!”
Big Green Back On the Shelf: A Message from Remington to You
Back in April, the company announced a set or price increase as well as a new work schedule. The Company would run 24/7 in order to help keep shelves stocked throughout this strange time for ammunition manufacturers and firearms owners. While ammo didn’t instantly come to shelves, it seems that the companies new work schedule is starting to close the gap and finally outpace demand.
Part of the price increases can be understood even if we don’t like them as raw materials have increased in price and the cost of the additional labor for a 24/7 operation doesn’t come free. However, one thing is for sure, ammunition is slowly, but surely coming back to the shelves of the stores we frequent. Hopefully, primers are on the way too.
While this return of regularly stocked ammunition is perhaps a light at the tunnel for shooters who can afford to justify the increased prices, I have to wonder what this means for the reloaders out there who are still struggling to find primers without having to camp out at the gun store every morning waiting to buy up the one or two cases that come in. It is my hope that the panic buying will continue to die down and ammunition shelves can once again be full with a wide variety of ammunition at affordable prices.
