A collaboration of titan companies befitting a Hollywood movie recently occurred when 5.11 Tactical, Amazon Prime Video, and Higher Ground came together for “Operation: Without Remorse Drone Drop.” What this entailed was giving back to military veterans as found and chosen by Higher Ground because it is not only National Military Appreciation Month, but also to kick off the debut of the NEW Tom Clancy movie “Without Remorse” which is now airing on Amazon Prime Video. The full press release for this project can be read below:
5.11, Inc., the global innovator of purpose-built apparel, footwear, and gear, today announced that the company, along with Amazon Prime Video and Higher Ground, celebrated National Military Appreciation Month and the April 30 release of the film Tom Clancy’s “Without Remorse” in exciting fashion earlier this week by using drones to air drop gift packages to three deserving Los Angeles-based military veterans. A video recapping the drops can be viewed here.
The packages, valued at nearly $400, contained pieces of 5.11’s latest and most innovative gear including a RUSH24 2.0 Pack, TacTec Plate Carrier, EDC L2 Flashlight, and more.
Recipients for the gift packages were selected by Higher Ground, a non-profit organization that provides adaptive recreational programs for individuals with disabilities as well as programs specific to Veterans. Celebrated annually during the month of May, National Military Appreciation Month is a time to honor current and former members of the U.S. Armed Forces.
Amazon Prime Video’s Tom Clancy’s Without Remorse is an action film adaptation of the Clancy novel of the same name. It’s the explosive origin story of action hero John Clark, an elite Navy SEAL played by Michael B. Jordan, who uncovers an international conspiracy while seeking justice for the murder of his pregnant wife.
While this might seem like a small act from such prominent and popular companies in the outdoors and military space, the gesture extended by this project is anything, but little. Adam Rund – Veteran Program Engagement Specialist, Higher Ground Los Angeles, and Veteran, USMC – explains more:
Our team is honored to have 5.11 and Amazon Prime Video recognize some of our most deserving Southern California-based Veterans ahead of National Military Appreciation Month. Our organization aims to work with our Veterans through therapeutic recreation to ease the transition from a life of service to Veteran life. We are grateful for companies like these two who can create memorable experiences for, and recognition of, our Veterans.
Debra Radcliff, CMO of 5.11 Tactical, expounded on her thoughts on “Operation: Without Remorse Drone Drop” as well:
As a brand, we value the sacrifices and service our military personnel provide our nation and we are eager to find opportunities to show gratitude toward those servicemen and women. This fun and unique project was particularly exciting and a great way to kickoff National Military Appreciation Month.
In a world that is rife with negativity every time you turn on the news, it is wonderful to see companies come together like this to give back to our military veterans in such a big and simultaneously fun way – who wouldn’t enjoy a drone dropping off gifts unexpectedly from 5.11 Tactical! If you have Amazon Prime Video, be sure to check out the NEW Tom Clancy movie of “Without Remorse” that is now out.
