MPA’s Enhancements for their BA Bolt Action Mount

Precision rifle shooters will soon be able to mount some of their favorite or most desired accessories to their mounts now that Masterpiece Arms has released an updated version of their MPA BA Bolt Action Mount. The mount features new enhancements such as 4mm mounting holes for adding various accessories to the scope mount. “The BA Series Mounts are made for mounting high performance optics onto bolt action rifles with Picatinny rail scope bases. Pic rail to scope center line height varies. 1″ & 30mm versions are 1.060″. 34mm are 1.060″, 1.125, 1.250 & 1.500. The 35mm & 36mm mount measurement is 1.250″
The mount is precision machined from 6061 T6 aluminum and finished in hard coat T3 Mil-Spec anodize. Horizontal split rings. The interface ensures positive engagement for both in spec and out of spec rail systems. Absolute Return to Zero via multiple locking lugs located on the bottom of the rail interface.

The first thing many of you will notice about the updated version of the Bolt Action Mount is the addition of a new hold pattern on the flat side of the mount. The holes are drilled and tapped to accept things like turret guards, dope cards, bubble levels, and other accessories available from masterpiece arms. The holes feature 20mm spacing and 4mm metric holes.
Why would one want to mount turret guards on their scope? Precision shooters in particular have to worry about their turrets being bumped or moved when shooting in different positions and through barriers. It is not uncommon for scopes to get knocked around a bit during a match so these turret guards serve as a safeguard against accidental changes to windage and elevation which could prematurely end a match.
