S&W Donates $500,000 to NSSF due to SHOT Show being Cancelled

As many of you may very well know, the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) — which hosts and puts on SHOT Show (Shooting, Hunting, and Outdoors Trade Show) — has made the difficult decision of cancelling the event due to the complications of COVID-19 and taking into account the safety of everyone’s health. After the crushing announcement that SHOT Show 2021 was going to be cancelled due to COVID, Smith & Wesson decided to donate $500,000 to support the NSSF in these difficult times. Smith & Wesson published a Press Release earlier this month outlining the news:

SPRINGFIELD, Massachusetts – Smith & Wesson Brands, Inc. announced that it will be making a donation in the amount of $500,000 to the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) to help fund their continued efforts to advocate for and support the firearms industry.  The work that the NSSF performs on behalf of the firearms industry is unparalleled and they have been instrumental to ensuring the success of the industry for almost 60 years.

“When the NSSF decided to cancel the 2021 SHOT Show, we felt it was important to show them that we stand behind them during these challenging times.  Smith & Wesson fully supports the NSSF and the work that they continue to do on behalf of our industry,” said Mark Smith, President and CEO. “The National Shooting Sports Foundation is a strong advocate for the Second Amendment and helps promote hunting and the shooting sports. Smith & Wesson is proud to have donated over $1 million in 2020 to support their efforts.”

While for many people (including myself), SHOT Show is not only a fun time seeing new products and old industry acquaintances, but it is also very beneficial to the shooting sports and the 2nd Amendment as a whole. Moreover, it is a tremendous event for the NSSF to raise funds for all of the initiatives they work on throughout the entire year. It is unfortunate that SHOT Show 2021 has been cancelled, but we at AllOutdoor will still be bringing you all sorts of news this January as new products are released. Be sure to watch for an event that we actually have in the works coming soon.
