Glowing Tent Ropes to Prevent Tripping
Russ Chastain 12.05.19
Have you ever tripped over a tent rope in the dark? If not, chances are good you have never camped in a tent or near someone in a tent. Truth be told, tent guy lines are probably the most hazardous thing we face when we stumble outside in the middle of the night to tinkle on a tree.
The solution? Glow-in-the-dark rope! Who’d’ve thunk it?
Okay, well I’m sure some of you have seen it before because it’s apparently been around for a couple of years, but for me this is news. So chances are good most of my readers haven’t seen it before.
Amazon reviewers agree the glow doesn’t last all night long — and some of it apparently doesn’t glow at all, so buy cautiously — but the better grades of glowing tent rope also have reflective “tracers” woven in to make the cord readily evident in your flashlight’s beam even after the glow dissipates.
You can also get glowing rope tensioners and glowing tent stakes, which might retain their glow longer than the rope does. Pretty cool!
Happy hunting (and camping).
