Mossberg’s New 410 Model 500 Turkey Gun
Russ Chastain 02.18.19
Turkey hunters who are interested in lightening their load this season might want to think about toting a smaller scattergun afield, such as a 410. Me, I have a tough enough time with my 12 gauge! But for folks who want a little challenge, lower recoil, and easier hiking, Mossberg’s new 410 Model 500 Turkey might be just what the doctor ordered.
Some specs:
- Mossberg Model 500 pump/slide shotgun
- Chambered for 3″ 410 shotgun shells
- Magazine capacity: 5 shells
- 26″ fixed-choke (full) barrel with vent rib
- Fiber optic front sight
- Synthetic stocks
- Length of pull: fixed, 13.87″
- Ventilated recoil pad
- QD sling studs
- Fully camouflaged with Mossy Oak Bottomland
- Weight: 6.5 pounds
- Overall length: 45.75″
- UPC: 015813501095
- MSRP: $500.00
It looks like a great shotgun, and one of the best things about Mossberg is the centrally-located thumb-operated safety. This is where the safety should be on ALL shotguns and most rifles, in my opinion. And with modern turkey ammo, even this little popper can reach out to about 30 yards.
