Watch: Make a Mouse Trap From an Old Bottle
Russ Chastain 04.16.18

Mice are pretty much evil, if they get into anyplace you don’t want them. And for me, that includes my house, garage, workshop, sheds, and vehicles, especially if I have edibles like grain or other seed stored there. Any unwanted critters that get in there deserve to die, or at least be forcibly evicted.
This guy found an old syrup bottle in a junk pile, and unlike most people he thought, “Hey, this would make a good mouse trap!” So get got busy with the JB Weld and some wood.
This trap is based on a simple concept, so naturally it works well. Gravity will flip the bottle upright once a mouse enters and eats a little too much grain or goes too far in. Once upright, the mouse is stuck in there for the duration.
My only complaints are that it only works for one mouse, and that the mouse won’t be dead when you recover it. But if live trapping is your thing, you might want to give this a go.
Turns out, it’s not the most ideal mouse trap ever, but it does capture a mouse, which really likes it inside that bottle.
