More Info on the Ideal Conceal Cell Phone Pistol

We’ve written about the Ideal Conceal Cell Phone Pistol before including Russ’s report from the 2018 SHOT Show. I also spoke with the designer of the gun, Kirk Kjellberg, at the show and was able to shoot a video demonstrating how the pistol loads, folds, and unfolds and get some additional information.
Kirk said that the gun is now in production in matte black, that other colors were upcoming, and that a 9mm version is in development. (The current pistol is chambered in .380 ACP). Kirk also demonstrated an integral laser model.
I have to admit I’m skeptical of the utility of what is essentially a two-shot Derringer. It seems to me that for the same weight and bulk you could carry a more effective firearm. However, I will say that when folded and carried in the holster, the Cell Phone Pistol does not look like a firearm. I can imagine the effect will be even more convincing if the gun becomes available in bright colors, patterned graphic designs, or with a faux iPhone case.
