5.56mm is military grade ammunition that is a slightly hotter load than 223 Remington. Personally, I buy 55 grain for target shooting and personal defense and 62 grain green tip for predator hunting.
Living in a rural area like I do, I keep an AR-15 magazine loaded with 55 grain and a spare magazine handy loaded with 62 grain. The magazines are windowed 30 round mags loaded with 20 rounds each.
