Browning Adds 20 Gauge Models to Citori 725 Line of Over/Under Shotguns

Browning has a long and rich history, especially when it comes to fine shotguns. I inherited a well-worn Browning Superposed 12 gauge from my father, and although it’s nearing 80 years of age, it’s still going strong. Over the past few decades, the Citori line has carried the mantle of Browning over/unders.

The Citori 725 line of scatterguns refines the Citori line a little more, with features that include low profile receiver, mechanical triggers, and Invector DS choke system. It’s only been around for a couple of years now, but it must be doing okay because they’ve just brought out some 20 gauge versions of the 725.

Touted as lightweight and quick-handling, the two new models come with 725 features, including Fire Lite mechanical trigger system, full-width hinge pin, and tapered locking bolt receiver design. The Inflex II recoil pad, they say, “diverts recoil down and away from the shooter’s face.” Add back-bored barrels with Invector-DS choke tubes, and it sure sounds good from here.

The 20 gauge Citori 725 will initially come in two models: Field and Sporting. While both are good-looking poppers, the Sporting model is a little fancier and refined.
